So tempted to buy a new car this month

Our local credit union is offering a 3.99% APR auto financing event on the final weekend.
I still think, unless miracles happen (and they have in the past), I will move back home next year, and although our car is 12 yrs old and has 138K miles on it, it still works, we have cheap insurance on it, and at the rate of 5000 miles a year, with regular maintenance and without any dimbulbs in Broncos or Trailblazers smashing into us, we should be able to make do with this car for the next three-four years.

Miracle #1: the coin shop coughed up my Yen, a mere four weeks after I paid for it. The staff was apologetic.
Miracle #2: Referral bonus of $250, albeit taxed at 40%. Whee.
Miracle #3: Helpful people this week, plus a reopened job req from earlier this spring.

    I want a "new" car, too. Especially a hybrid. But mine is only 7 years old (110,000 miles on it, and paid for) so it will be a while. But I lvoe my car, so it's kinda OK. Smile

    You have waited 12 yrs, wait another 3-4. you have a very good plan going and seem to be on a roll. Stop looking at auto financing deals!

    I wish I could have waited a while before buying mine, but it was a ticking timebomb at 10 years old and 165000 miles. I shelled out a lot of $$ on it recently and it was only calling for more. I'm getting used to the new one though! Good luck with that decision when the time comes for you. Smile

    One of my employees has a 1998 Toyota with 279,000 miles on it. You are only halfway there.

    Remember, "good deals" are only actually good if you need what is being offered. Keep on driving the car you've got until it keels over and dies.
